What is the server IP?
play.artemispvp.com. The old address, play.gsopvp.net, still works and lands you on the same server. Java and Bedrock players can both join.
What Minecraft version do I need?
The server is built to be PLAYED on 1.8.9 - that is the version the combat, the gear and the cannoning are balanced around. A modern core runs underneath with ViaVersion, ViaBackwards and ViaRewind, so newer clients can connect too, but 1.8.9 is what everything is designed for.
Do I need mods, a launcher or a texture pack?
No. Vanilla Minecraft connects straight in. Everything custom - the blocks, the enchants, the mobs - is server-side.
How do I connect my Minecraft account to this website?
Run /link in game and follow the prompt. Once it is linked the site knows who you are, and the Resources page builds give commands aimed at your own name.
How do I see what the server actually has?
/help is the index. /events lists every event with a live countdown, /kits shows what you can claim, and /items opens the catalogue of custom items.
How do I get back to spawn?
/spawn.
How do I get somewhere random in the wild?
/wild teleports you to a random wilderness location.
How do I set a home?
/sethome places one, /home travels to it, /homes lists them and /delhome removes one.
How do I teleport to a friend?
/tpa asks to go to them, /tpahere asks them to come to you. They answer with /tpaccept or /tpdeny, and /tpacancel withdraws your request.
Where can I store things?
/pv opens your player vaults, /enderchest opens your ender chest anywhere, and /workbench gives you a crafting table on the spot.
How do I go AFK without being kicked for idling?
/afk.
How do I check my profile, or when someone was last online?
/profile shows yours. /seen shows when a player was last on.
How do I repair my gear?
/repair.
Can I fly?
/fly, if your rank or your current area allows it.
Factions6
What faction plugin does the server use?
SaberFactions. /f is the reference command and lists everything factions can do.
What are Faction Points?
/fp opens the Faction Points help and info pop-up, which explains how they are earned and what they are worth.
How do I upgrade my faction?
/upgrades opens the faction upgrade menu.
Does cannoning actually work here?
Yes. It is one of the things the server is built around, and it is why the 1.8.9 combat and block behaviour are kept intact rather than approximated.
Where do I raid?
Raid outposts are a scheduled event - /raid explains how the current one works and /raidoutpost opens its menu.
Can I see who is winning?
/top and /topa show the leaderboards.
Custom enchants6
Does the server have custom enchantments?
Yes - 207 of them on top of the vanilla set. They run on EliteEnchantments and they are the main progression on the server.
What are the enchantment rarities?
Eight, in order: Simple, Unique, Elite, Ultimate, Legendary, Soul, Heroic and Mastery. Each has its own colour, and that colour is what you see on the book and in this site's Enchantments list.
How do I see every custom enchant in game?
/ee enchants opens the full list, and /ee effects opens the effects browser.
How do I apply an enchantment book?
Drag and drop the book onto the item. Every book shows a Success Rate - that is the chance of it applying. If it fails, the item can be destroyed, so read the book before using it on gear you care about.
Where can I read what every enchant does without logging in?
The Resources page here. Open Resources, pick Enchantments, and ours are listed first - each in its rarity colour, with what it does, what it goes on, what triggers it, and every level's chance and cooldown.
What is an Enchanter, and what are dust and orbs?
They are the tools for gambling and improving enchantment books rather than applying them straight. The in-game menus show the live rates.
Custom blocks & generators6
What are custom blocks?
Blocks with an ability attached. /customblocks browses all of them and what each one does - /cb and /cblocks are the same command.
How do I get generators?
/gen opens the Gen Shop and manages your gen blocks.
What is Heroic Mining?
/mining explains how it works.
Is there custom TNT?
Yes - /customtnt, and /customcreepers for the creeper variants.
Where do I browse every custom item?
/items is the catalogue.
What are spawners and how do I manage them?
/spawners opens the spawner menu.

What events run on the server?
/events is the overview - every event with a live countdown to the next one.
What is KOTH?
King of the Hill. /koth opens the menu, warps you to the arena and shows the schedule.
What is Conquest?
Cosmic Conquests. /conquest shows the info and a preview of the loot.
What is Envoy?
Supply crates that drop across the map for everyone to fight over. /envoy is the main command.
What is Jackpot?
A ticket draw hosted by Tax Tim. /jackpot buys tickets and shows past winners and history.
Are there chat games?
Yes. /chatgames shows the help and the reward pool.
What is the Black Market Auction?
/bah opens the auction - bid on what is up and look through the history.
What are Outposts and Castles?
Capturable structures a faction can hold. /castle opens the outpost and castle menu.
What are Strongholds?
/sh opens the stronghold menu.
Is there horse racing?
Yes - there is a horse racing event with its own tracks.
What is the Warzone Boss?
A random boss that spawns in the warzone for everyone to fight over.
What are Trials?
A run of rooms you enter for rewards. /trials joins, leaves, and shows stats and the leaderboard.
How do I know when the next event starts?
/events shows a live countdown for each one, and the server announces them in chat.
Warzone & custom mobs4
What is the warzone?
The shared PvP area where the events and the custom mobs are. It is where most of the fighting happens.
Are the mobs custom?
Yes. The server runs its own mobs with their own stats and drops - the Explore page on this site has a card for each one.
What is the Upside Down?
A concept in the nether warzone. The Explore page and the news post cover what it is.
Where can I see every custom mob and its stats?
The Explore page here - each mob has a card with its real stats.
Minigames3
Are there minigames?
Yes - /minigames or /mg is the hub.
Which minigames are there?
Bed Wars, Sky Wars, Hunger Games, Spleef, Pillars, Quakecraft and Battle Royale.
What do I earn in minigames?
Tokens and points - /tokens and /points show your balances.
Crates, kits & shops7
How do crates work?
/chest and /lootbox open the crate system.
What kits can I claim?
/kits lists them and /kit claims one. There are also gkits (/gkit), vkits (/vkit) and rkits (/rkit).
Where do I buy and sell things?
/shop is the server shop, /sell sells what you are holding, and /ah is the player auction house.
Are there other currencies I can spend?
Yes - /coinshop, /xpshop and /questshop each spend something different that you earn.
What ranks are there?
/ranks shows the ladder and what each rank gives you.
Are there cosmetics?
Titles, masks, pets, hats and disguises.
Is there a store?
The Store link in the top menu is not open yet.
Money, gambling & quests7
How do I check my balance?
/balance, and /baltop for the richest players.
How do I pay someone?
/pay. /withdraw turns money into a physical note and /econote handles notes.
Can I gamble?
Yes - /coinflip for money, /itemflip for items and /xpflip for experience.
Can I duel someone?
/duel challenges a player, and /tournament runs a bracket.
Are there quests?
/quests lists them and /questprogress shows how far along you are.
Is there fishing?
Yes - /fishing.
Does the server have mcMMO?
Yes, skills are tracked as you play.

Do I need a website account to play?
No. You need one to open a ticket, appeal a punishment or apply for staff.
How do I link my account?
Register here, then run /link in game.
What is the Resources page?
A searchable copy of everything the server knows about - every enchantment, potion effect, mob, sound, block, item, particle and more, read from the server's own files, plus all 207 of our custom enchants. Most rows carry a one-click command you can paste in game.
What is the Explore page?
A visual tour of the server - the custom mobs, the warzone, and what makes each part of the map different.
How does voting work?
The Vote page lists every site you can vote on. Every list resets every 24 hours, so you can vote again each day.
I cannot log in - what do I do?
Open Support and submit a ticket.
Where do the Artemis Daily pictures come from?
The seven day pictures on the Artemis Daily puzzle are NASA mission images from the NASA Image and Video Library: the Webb telescope's Carina Nebula, WISE's Eagle Nebula, Hubble's Hunting Dog Galaxy, Cassini's Saturn, Juno over Jupiter, Earth from the International Space Station and Hubble and Spitzer's Orion. How do I report a player or get help?
Support, then submit a ticket. Every ticket is read by staff.
How do I appeal a ban or a mute?
Use the appeal form on this site. It reaches the same place as tickets.
How do I apply for staff?
The Support page carries the application links. We are actively looking.
Is there a Discord?
Yes - the Discord icon at the far left of the top menu.
