Factions and Raiding

Common Factions Server Rules

Factions servers set rules so raids stay possible and fair. Common ones cap base and buffer size, limit walls and reverse layers, require spawners to stay raidable, limit raid claims and cannon types, and punish breaks with faction strikes. One server's rule page shows the pattern; your server's rules are what count.

What base rules are common?

The CosmicPE wiki's faction rules are a clear example:

  • The main shell can be at most 15 x 15 chunks; the buffer can reach 20 chunks out; base plus buffer at most 35 x 35.
  • Grinder boxes may be water-protected on the outside.
  • Up to 10 reverse layers between floors, 1 block thick.
  • One sand wall per chunk, at most 20 in a full buffer.

Why must spawners stay raidable?

If spawners could be sealed away, raids would be pointless. CosmicPE's rules require spawners and custom blocks to stay exposed: no encasing them in water, obsidian or other blocks that cannot be blown up, no TNT around them, and no splitting them into many tiny boxes just to dodge raids. See spawners in factions.

What raid rules are common?

CosmicPE limits raid claims (up to 100, cannon boxes up to 10 x 10; they expire after 8 hours per its base page, 24 per its older rules page), bans alt factions used to dodge limits, and forbids auto cannons: every cannon must be fired by hand. It also limits using gen buckets to repair walls during a raid. See raid claims and cannon boxes.

What happens if you break the rules?

On CosmicPE, a struck faction loses that week's /f top rewards and gets a points lock for the week; later strikes cut its value and points by 30%, 40% and 50%, and a fifth disqualifies it. Some rule breaks there get a warning and 24 hours to fix first. Other servers use bans or removals.

Where are the ArtemisPvP rules?

On the rules page. Factions systems such as shields, wild claims and Tax Tim are explained on Factions basics. General base design: base building.

Frequently asked questions

Why do factions servers limit base size?

So bases stay raidable and the map is not walled off; CosmicPE caps base plus buffer at 35 x 35 chunks.

Can you hide spawners from raiders?

On CosmicPE, no: its rules require spawners to stay raidable. Check your own server's rules.
