Minecraft server IP: how to join ArtemisPvP

The ArtemisPvP server IP is play.artemispvp.com. Paste it into the Multiplayer screen and you land on a Cosmic PvP-style factions server with 207 custom enchants and 14 timed events. This page explains what a server IP is made of, where to type it, and what to check when it refuses to connect.

What a server IP actually is

A server IP is the address your game uses to find a server on the internet. Most public servers give you a name such as play.artemispvp.com instead of a string of numbers, because a name can stay the same even when the machine behind it moves. Typing the name is all you need: Minecraft looks up the numbers for you.

Some addresses end in a colon and a port. If a server tells you a port, type it exactly as given. ArtemisPvP's Java address needs no port, so leave it off. The full background on IP addresses, ports and what a server can see about you is on the server FAQ.

Adding the IP on Java Edition

  1. Open Minecraft and choose Multiplayer.
  2. Click Add Server. Give it any name you like, for example ArtemisPvP.
  3. Type play.artemispvp.com into the Server Address box and click Done.
  4. Wait for the server to show its message of the day and a green signal, then double-click it to join.

Prefer to try once before saving it? Direct Connection takes the same address and joins without adding it to your list.

The server is built to be played on 1.8.9. That version is what the combat, the gear and the cannoning are balanced around. Newer Java clients up to 26.2 connect too, so you do not have to downgrade to look around.

Joining from Bedrock

Bedrock players can join ArtemisPvP as well. Bedrock adds servers on its own Servers tab, where it asks for an address and a port in separate boxes. The Bedrock connection details are given out in the Discord; ask there and someone will help you in. Once you are in, you share the same world, the same factions and the same events as Java players. More on that on the Java and Bedrock page.

When the IP will not connect

  • Check the spelling. One wrong letter sends the game nowhere. Copy play.artemispvp.com from this page rather than typing it.
  • Check your account. Cracked (non-premium) accounts cannot join. A cracked launcher is refused at the door.
  • Check your version. Anything from 1.8.9 to 26.2 on Java is accepted.
  • Refresh the list. A red cross sometimes clears after a refresh or a game restart.
  • Still stuck? The connection FAQ walks through firewall, network and launcher causes, and the Discord can check whether it is the server or your side.

Where server IPs come from

Most people collect IPs from server list websites, Reddit threads and YouTube videos. A list shows a banner, a short pitch and a vote count. That is enough to get an address, but not enough to know what the server runs. ArtemisPvP publishes everything on its wiki instead: every one of the 207 enchants, the 14 events, the outposts, bosses and trial rooms, with the numbers the server uses today.

Questions

Do I need a port number to join ArtemisPvP on Java?

No. On Java Edition the address play.artemispvp.com is enough on its own; leave the port box out.

Does the GSO PvP address still take you to ArtemisPvP?

Yes. play.gsopvp.net still works and lands on the same server. The main address is now play.artemispvp.com.

What should I check when play.artemispvp.com will not connect?

Check the spelling of the address, that your account is a paid one (Cracked (non-premium) accounts cannot join.), and that you are on Java 1.8.9 or newer, up to 26.2. If it still fails, ask in the ArtemisPvP Discord.
