Economy

A Minecraft server with a real economy

On a factions server, money buys the gear that wins fights. ArtemisPvP at play.artemispvp.com runs a full economy: a shop, an auction house with listings from $10 to $1,000,000, safe trading, coin flips and item flips, quests, Labour Ledgers, fishing and mcMMO. This page shows how money moves.

Flips

Coin flips bet money or XP against another player. The smallest flip is $1,000, or 1,000 XP for an XP flip, and each flip pays 5% of the pot in tax. Tax Tim sits in the matches menu and will take a flip at any time. Item flips put up to 9 items on each side, and the winner takes every item from both sides.

Earning

Where money leaves

A healthy economy needs money to drain out as well as in. Wild claims pay Tax Tim $100,000 every 24 hours or break, flips are taxed, and the Enchanter sells enchant books for XP. The Jackpot is a timed event where players buy in and one player takes the pot.

Watching the leaderboards

Money shows up on the leaderboards: Top Balances, Top Factions by wealth, Top Jackpot Winners and Top Coin Spenders are among the 18 boards. The economy guide covers every system in detail.
