Crossplay

A crossplay Minecraft server for PvP

A crossplay server is one server that players on different devices can join together. ArtemisPvP is a crossplay factions server: Java players connect at play.artemispvp.com and Bedrock players can join the same world, so a PC player and a console or phone player can share a faction, a base and a raid.

Two kinds of crossplay

Minecraft has two editions. Bedrock runs on Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and phones, and Bedrock players on all of those can already play with each other. Java runs on computers. When people search for a crossplay server they usually mean a server where both editions meet. Most of those servers run on Java and translate for Bedrock players. The background on how that works is in the Bedrock FAQ.

What to check before you pick a crossplay server

  1. Does custom content work on both editions? Enchants, mobs and menus built on the server reach everybody. Things that need a client mod or a texture pack often do not.
  2. Are the rules the same for both? Combat, clicking and account rules should apply to everyone.
  3. How does PvP feel? Java and Bedrock fight a little differently; the Bedrock FAQ explains how.
  4. Is there help for console players? Consoles add servers in their own way, so a Discord that answers questions matters.

How ArtemisPvP handles it

EditionsJava and Bedrock players can both join.

BedrockConnection details in the ArtemisPvP Discord
Custom contentServer-side, so the 207 enchants, the bosses and the events reach both editions
AccountsCracked (non-premium) accounts cannot join.
ClickingButterfly, jitter and drag clicking are allowed. ArtemisPvP does not publish a CPS limit.

Mixed factions

Because both editions play in one world, a faction can mix them freely. A Java player and a Bedrock player can claim land together, store loot in the same base, take an outpost together and stand on the same KOTH hill. The faction size limit is the same for everyone: up to 30 members and 10 alts. The factions side is covered in more depth on Java and Bedrock factions.

Questions

Can a phone player and a PC player fight on ArtemisPvP?

Yes. Java and Bedrock players can both join. Phones and consoles play Bedrock, PCs usually play Java, and all of them meet in the same world.

Do Bedrock players get the same custom enchants on ArtemisPvP?

Yes. The 207 custom enchants run on the server, not in a mod, so both editions use the same enchants, gear and events.
