Warzone and Safezone
Most factions servers split the world into special zones. The safezone, usually spawn, is protected: no PvP and no explosions. The warzone is the shared PvP area around it, where nobody can claim land and where events, loot and fights happen. The rest of the map is the wilderness and faction land.
What is the safezone?
A protected area, usually around spawn, where fighting is normally off. Servers use it as a safe place to arrive, trade and use menus. Event rules often refer to it: the CosmicPE wiki's KOTH page says flying is disabled everywhere outside the safezone at KOTH, and its outpost page mentions fixing the safezone region at one outpost.
What is the warzone?
A shared PvP area, often around spawn, where everyone can fight and that factions do not own. Big factions events happen there: the CosmicPE wiki puts its overworld envoys and its Last Man Standing arena in the warzone, and its premium claims are priced by distance from the warzone. Because nobody owns it, the warzone is where most open fights happen.
What rules usually apply?
Each server sets its own rules. Examples we can source: on ArtemisPvP explosions are blocked in both zones, and on CosmicPE events inside the warzone add their own limits, such as KOTH's halved knockback and death cooldown and LMS restrictions.

How do zones work on ArtemisPvP?
Explosions are blocked in the Safezone and the Warzone, so raids happen in faction land and the wilderness (Factions basics). The warzone is the shared PvP area where the events and custom mobs are, and envoy crates land there (Envoys, Last Man Standing).
