UHC PvP Guide
UHC PvP is built around natural regeneration being turned off: you do not heal from a full hunger bar, so golden apples are your healing. The kit adds cobwebs, lava buckets and water buckets, which makes UHC a test of utility items as much as sword skill.
What makes a UHC kit different?
minecraft.wiki's PvP guide defines UHC PvP by natural regeneration being disabled and by cobwebs, lava buckets and water buckets. Some versions add ender pearls; some add steak or porkchops so you can keep your hunger up without using your limited golden apples. Healing comes from golden apples' regeneration and absorption.
What skills matter most in UHC?
- Fast hotkeys: the guide says scroll wheels will not cut it.
- Knowing when to fight defensively to drain and when to go in to drop the opponent.
- Using blocks for more than bridging: a placed block can also remove a lava or water source.
- Mixing SMP-style melee with careful use of every utility item.

Can you turn off natural regeneration in a world?
Yes, with a game rule. In current Java it is called natural_health_regeneration (it used to be naturalRegeneration); in Bedrock it is naturalregeneration. Setting it to false stops healing from a full hunger bar. See game rules and golden apples.
