PvP Combat

Team Fights and Outnumbered Fights

When you are outnumbered, the best options are to run or talk your way out. If you must fight, split the enemies up, focus one target at a time (the weakest or the one worst at healing), and strafe so that target stands between you and their teammate. You cannot win a long drain fight against two players.

How do you split up a group?

minecraft.wiki's PvP guide suggests waiting for one to run off and heal, running until one falls behind, or knocking one into a ditch and then fighting the other one on one.

Who should you target first?

One at a time, starting with the weakest or least skilled. If there is no clear choice, pick the player who heals least consistently. The goal is to drop someone quickly, because the guide notes you will lose any slow drain fight against more players.

How do you avoid being hit by both?

During a 1v2, focus one target and strafe around them so they stay between you and their teammate. Their body shields you from the second player, keeping the damage you take manageable. Movement tips: strafing and spacing.

What should you do after a kill?

Grab anything useful from their drops: healing, XP bottles, spare armour. If another enemy is near, burn or hide the rest so they cannot use it. That leaves you with a gear lead for the remaining fights.

Can invisibility confuse a group?

The guide describes a trick when everyone wears matching gear: splash an Invisibility potion on the group in close combat to hide nametags so they cannot tell who is who. It notes few players carry milk to cancel it, though some teams carry a marker item such as coloured wool.

How do teams fight well?

The guide's war advice favours keeping soldiers together and rotating the front line rather than scattering. In factions, team fights happen at events like KOTH and outposts; see KOTH and outposts. Ping and healing still decide individual trades: ping and potions.

Where are team fights on ArtemisPvP?

KOTH, outposts and strongholds are faction-against-faction fights; see KOTH and Outposts.
