TNT Raids, Claim Raids and Stealth Raids
minecraft.wiki's PvP guide names three kinds of factions raid. A TNT raid blasts the walls of a base when nobody is online. A claim raid kills the defenders while they are online and takes their land, the only answer to huge obsidian walls. A stealth raid sends a few players in unseen, which is hard and risky.
What are the three raid types?
| Type | How it works | Best against |
|---|---|---|
| TNT raid | Bash the walls with TNT while the faction is offline, then take the chests | Bases that are not underground or obsidian |
| Claim raid | Kill members while they are online and claim their land | Huge obsidian bases |
| Stealth raid | A small team sneaks in unseen | Loosely secured bases; very risky |
Claim raids depend on the server's power or DTR rules; see overclaiming and DTR.
What should you bring?
- Plenty of food, such as steak, porkchops, golden carrots and golden apples, because raids take time.
- An Efficiency V diamond or netherite pickaxe, so you can dig through fast before the owners respond.
The guide's advice on timing: strike when few people are guarding the base, take what you can, and leave quickly before the owners come online.
Are raids worth it?
The guide lists the upside (draining your rival's resources and adding to yours) and the downside (making yourself a target), and concludes raids are generally worth the risk. Plan for retaliation.
How does this map onto modern factions servers?
Modern servers mostly raid with cannons and dispensers and limit raids with shields, raid claims and rules. The CosmicPE wiki lists cannoning and overclaiming as its two raid types. See raiding explained, how to raid a base and shields.
Which raid types work on ArtemisPvP?
TNT and creeper raids, outside shield hours. Dying never costs power or land there, so claim raids by killing members do not take land; land is lost to raids and to unfuelled wild claims. See Factions basics.
