Item Mods and Item Sockets
Item mods are accessories that add buffs to your gear, and sockets are the slots they go in. On Cosmic-style servers you first add a socket to an item, such as an amulet or backpack socket on a chestplate or a belt socket on leggings, then attach a matching mod.
How do item mods work on CosmicPE?
The CosmicPE wiki: every piece of equipment can take item mods, but chestplates and leggings need armor sockets first. Armor sockets enable amulet, backpack and belt mods and can have up to three slots. A single mod item can carry up to three mods (multi-mods), which are pre-set. The wiki keeps a community tier list of mods by slot.
How do sockets work on ArtemisPvP?
Item Sockets add speciality slots to items. Armor socket types are Amulet (chestplate), Backpack (chestplate) and Belt (leggings); the weapon socket type is Augmented Crystal (sword or axe). You add a socket by successfully applying an Armor or Weapon Socket consumable. Sockets cannot be removed, but you can attach and detach accessories freely, like skins. See item sockets.
How should you use sockets?
- Socket your best long-term gear, since sockets stay on the item.
- Match the mod to the socket type.
- Check event rules: some zones ban item mods, such as CosmicPE's Trainee and Vanilla outposts.
See outposts and armor crystals.
Which slots do mods go in?
The CosmicPE wiki groups its item mods by slot in a community tier list: helmet, amulet, backpack, belt, boots, sword and axe mods. Amulet and backpack mods sit in chestplate sockets and belt mods in leggings sockets, which is why sockets come first. ArtemisPvP's socket types are listed on its item sockets page.
What else upgrades gear?
Custom enchants (custom enchants), masks (masks) and armor sets (armor sets).
