Factions and Raiding

Faction Roles, Permissions and Zones

Factions have ranks: on FactionsUUID they are admin (leader), coleader, moderator, member and recruit. Permissions decide what each rank, ally or outsider may do in your land: build, open chests, use doors, set warps, claim or invite. Tight permissions are your best defence against a traitor.

What are the faction roles?

FactionsUUID's /f role command sets a member to admin, coleader, moderator, member or recruit, and can promote or demote one step at a time. /f set defaultrole picks the rank new members join at. The person who runs /f create becomes the leader, as FactionsUUID's first-steps guide shows.

What do permissions control?

/f set perms opens permission control for your faction. FactionsUUID's definitions describe a permission simply as the authority to do something; in practice servers use it for actions such as building, opening containers, using doors, claiming, inviting and buying upgrades. Its upgrade guide gives an example: buying an upgrade needs the right Permissible Action, granted through /f set perms, and beacon effects in your territory can be limited the same way.

What are zones?

With the Zones upgrade, a FactionsUUID zone groups one or more of your claimed chunks and gives them their own permissions. The docs' examples: a zone where allies may build for shared projects, or one where only moderators and above can open chests. Commands: /f zone create, /f zone claim, /f zone set <zone> perms.

How do faction warps and homes work?

/f set home sets a faction home that members can teleport to with /f home. /f set warp <name> creates named warps, optionally with a password, and /f warp <name> uses them. The number of warps can be raised with the Warps upgrade.

How do you stop insiders from raiding you?

  • Give new members the lowest role until you trust them.
  • Lock chests and spawners to trusted ranks only.
  • Use zones for areas allies or recruits may use.
  • Where the server allows it, give members their own sections ('boxes'), as the CosmicPE base guide describes.

minecraft.wiki's PvP guide describes sabotage by joining an enemy faction and striking when its officers are offline, which is exactly what tight permissions stop; see sabotage and infiltration.

What are the limits on ArtemisPvP?

A faction on ArtemisPvP holds up to 30 members and 10 alts, and names are 3 to 10 characters. See Factions basics and factions commands.
