Faction Relations: Ally, Truce, Enemy, Neutral
Factions have four relations with each other: neutral (the default), ally (trusted friends), truce (a temporary peace) and enemy. You set them with a relation command, and they decide who can use ally and truce chat and what others may do in your land.
What do the four relations mean?

How do you set a relation?
On FactionsUUID servers: /f relation <faction> ally, enemy, neutral or truce. There are separate chat channels for allies and truces (/f chat ally, /f chat truce), and toggles to hide chatty ally or truce chat. Factions can also create zones inside their land with their own permissions, for example to let allies build there. Full list: factions commands.
Why do relations matter?
- Teamwork: allies fight together at events like KOTH and outposts.
- Territory: permissions can let allies use doors, chests or zones in your land.
- Buffs: on FactionsUUID, territory upgrades such as damage boost and damage resistance apply to members and allies.
- Information: relations colour names, so you can tell friend from foe.
Can you have unlimited allies?
It depends on the server. Many cap allies to stop huge alliances from running the map. On ArtemisPvP a faction can have only 1 ally at a time, while enemies are unlimited.
How do relations work on ArtemisPvP?
Factions are neutral until they choose otherwise. Your members show in green, allies in pink and enemies in red, in chat, on nametags and on /f map. Ask for an alliance with /f ally <faction> and mark a rival with /f enemy <faction>. Allies cannot build or open containers in each other's land. See Factions basics.
