Enchantment Orbs and Enchant Slots
On Cosmic-style servers an item can only hold so many custom enchants. Enchantment orbs raise that limit: a weapon orb for weapons, an armor orb for armor, each with its own success rate and a maximum it can reach. Some servers also raise the base limit as the map gets older.
What does an enchantment orb do?
The CosmicPE wiki says orbs increase the number of enchants an armour piece (armor orb) or weapon (weapon orb) can hold; there they range from [10] to [16] enchants and have a success rate.
Do slots grow over time?
On CosmicPE, yes: its milestone system unlocks features as the world ages, and the gear enchant limit starts at 7, goes up day by day during the first week, and is removed entirely on day 8. That is one server's design; others keep a fixed base limit.
How do slots work on ArtemisPvP?
Items start with 9 custom enchant slots. An orb adds slots up to the maximum printed on it, at its own success rate, and the item then shows its new slot count. There are Weapon and Armor orbs, and Orb Generators give a random orb. See enchantment orbs and enchant books.
How do you read an orb?
On ArtemisPvP every orb shows three things: how many slots it adds, the most slots the item can end up with, and its success rate. An orb never takes an item past its printed maximum, so a small orb on an item that already has many slots may do nothing useful. Once applied, the item shows its new slot count in its lore, with the orb's bonus in brackets.
How should you plan enchant slots?
- Decide which enchants matter most before filling slots, since removing one needs a black scroll.
- Orb your best item early so better books have room later.
- Protect high-value items with white scrolls before risky books.
