DTR: Deaths Till Raidable
DTR stands for Deaths Till Raidable. Instead of power, a faction has a DTR number that drops (usually by 1) each time a member dies. When it reaches 0, the faction's land can be raided and looted. Claims in DTR mode depend on how many members a faction has, not on power.
How does DTR work?
The FactionsUUID introduction describes DTR as an alternative to power: land claiming does not depend on power but on faction membership, and every member death lowers the faction's DTR, typically by 1. Once it hits 0 the land can be raided and looted.
That makes DTR easy to read: if your faction shows DTR 3, three more deaths make you raidable.
Does DTR come back?
Yes, on servers that use it. FactionsUUID's upgrade list includes a DTR Regeneration Boost (+X% to the regen rate), a DTR Loss Reduction upgrade (lose less DTR per death) and a DTR Claim Limit Boost (more claims allowed), so DTR regenerates over time and the rate can be improved. Admins can also set, change or reset DTR with /fa dtr commands.
DTR or power: what is the difference?
| Power | DTR | |
|---|---|---|
| Claims depend on | Total member power (about 1 chunk per power) | A set amount per member |
| A death | Lowers that member's power | Lowers the faction's DTR, usually by 1 |
| Raidable when | Land is greater than power | DTR reaches 0 |
| What attackers can do | Destroy blocks and claim land away | Raid and loot the land |
Power rules are on faction power and claims.
Is DTR used in HCF?
DTR is closely tied to Hardcore Factions (HCF) servers in community talk, but each HCF server writes its own rules for DTR, freezes and deathbans. We have not found an official HCF rulebook to cite, so check the server's own rules page.
How do you play around DTR?
- Count your DTR before a fight; a raid becomes possible the moment it hits 0.
- Fight near safe ground so a lost fight does not cost several deaths.
- Pull back members who are low on health instead of trading deaths.
- Attackers: force fights to drain DTR, then raid.
