Zoglins in Minecraft: Zombified Hoglins
A zoglin is what a hoglin becomes after 15 seconds outside the Nether. It is undead, has 40 health, never flees, and attacks players and almost every other mob, even hoglins and zombified piglins. On Java an adult zoglin's hit throws you into the air, and a shield does not stop the fling. Zoglins cannot be bred.
How does a hoglin become a zoglin?
Take a hoglin through a Nether portal into the Overworld or End, or spawn one there, and after 15 seconds it shakes and turns into a zoglin. On Java it has cosmetic Nausea for its first 10 seconds. Hoglins: hoglins. The same happens to piglins, which become zombified piglins; see zombified piglins.
How do you fight a zoglin?
- Use Smite, since zoglins are undead, and keep away from edges because their hits fling you on Java.
- Instant Health hurts them and Instant Damage heals them.
- They are not scared of warped fungus, unlike hoglins.
- Let them fight other mobs: zoglins attack nearly everything except creepers, ghasts and other zoglins.
What do zoglins drop?
Rotten flesh and 5 experience, instead of the porkchops and leather a hoglin drops. Baby zoglins stay babies forever and do not fling targets. They despawn in Peaceful like other hostile mobs.
Why would you make one?
Usually you would not; it is the thing to avoid when moving hoglins for a farm. Keep hoglin farms in the Nether, or keep the hoglins on the Nether side of a portal. Undead tips: Smite and sword enchantments.
