Woodland Mansions in Minecraft: How to Find and Raid One
Woodland mansions are huge three-floor houses that generate rarely in dark forests and pale gardens, usually very far from spawn. They are full of vindicators and evokers, and some rooms hold imprisoned allays. Find one with a woodland mansion map from a master cartographer. Evokers here are a sure source of totems of undying, and chests can hold the Vex armor trim.
How do you find a woodland mansion?
Buy a woodland mansion map (called the woodland explorer map on Bedrock) from a master cartographer for 14 emeralds and a compass, or find one in a secret chest at an abandoned camp; the map may not always point to the nearest one. With cheats, /locate structure minecraft:mansion works. Maps: cartographer trades.
What is inside?
- Three floors with dozens of room types, some sealed off as secret rooms: spider rooms, fake End portal rooms, obsidian rooms, lava rooms and more.
- Vindicators and evokers that do not respawn; see evokers.
- Allays trapped in cells; free them to keep them; see allays.
- A cobblestone foundation under the whole building on uneven ground.
What loot is in a mansion?
Chests can hold enchanted books, diamond chestplates and hoes, chainmail chestplates, golden and enchanted golden apples, music disc Cat, leads, iron and gold, resin clumps and food. The Vex armor trim template appears in about half of mansion chests on Java. Every evoker drops a totem of undying; see totems.
Tips for raiding a mansion
Bring a shield against vindicator axes, a bow, food, and blocks to wall off corridors. Light the rooms as you go so mobs cannot spawn behind you. Mark your path, because the layout is a maze. Full illager guide: illagers.
