Librarian Villager in Minecraft: Every Trade
A librarian is the villager that sells enchanted books, including Mending, and the reason most players build a trading hall. Give an unemployed villager a lectern to make one. Librarians also buy paper, books and ink sacs, and sell bookshelves, glass, lanterns, compasses, clocks and candles.

Prices vary with demand, your reputation and the Hero of the Village effect, and items marked with ranges (such as enchanted items) are random. Each level unlocks after enough trades.
How do you get a librarian?
Place a lectern near an unemployed villager (not a nitwit) and it takes the job. If you have not traded with it yet, breaking the block resets its trades. See villager professions.
What is a librarian best for?
Each level from novice to expert can offer one random enchanted book (any enchantment except Soul Speed, Swift Sneak and Wind Burst), priced by its level and doubled for treasure enchantments such as Mending. Reroll a novice librarian's first book by breaking and replacing its lectern until it offers Mending or another book you want, then trade once to lock it in. See trading halls.
