TNT Run

TNT Run is a last-player-standing minigame where the floor disappears behind you: every block you step on drops away moments later, so you have to keep moving, and the last player who has not fallen wins.

What is TNT Run in Minecraft?

TNT Run is a movement game with no weapons. The arena is a stack of floors, often sand or gravel on top of TNT, and each block vanishes shortly after a player walks over it. Standing still means falling. Players run, jump and cut across each other's paths to trap opponents in holes, and fall from layer to layer until the bottom layer runs out.

It is a close relative of Spleef: in both games the floor is the enemy. The difference is that in Spleef you break blocks on purpose; in TNT Run your own feet do it.

Why sand, gravel and TNT?

The arena uses vanilla blocks with useful properties. Sand and gravel are affected by gravity, so once the block under them is gone they fall. TNT, once lit by fire, redstone or a command, explodes after 80 game ticks (4 seconds); servers usually remove the blocks with their own code instead of letting them explode, so the arena works the same every round.

How do you win TNT Run?

  • Never stop moving, and never walk back over your own trail.
  • Sprint-jump across gaps; one jump saves a block.
  • Head for big untouched areas, not the middle where everyone runs.
  • On lower floors, wait at the edge of your hole before dropping so you land on fresh blocks.
  • Cut in front of other players to leave them nothing to stand on.

Is TNT Run on ArtemisPvP?

No, but Spleef and Pillars are. ArtemisPvP also has a custom TNT system for raiding on the Factions server. See Minigames on Artemis PvP. Join with Java Edition at play.artemispvp.com (1.8.9 up to 26.2).
