Swamp and Mangrove Swamp Biomes: Slimes, Huts, Frogs
Swamps are flat, flooded biomes with vine-covered oaks, lily pads and grey-green water, and the only biome with swamp huts, each housing a witch and a black cat. Swamps and mangrove swamps are the only places slimes spawn above ground: at night between Y=50 and Y=70, most often at a full moon and never at a new moon. Mangrove swamps are their warm version, with mangrove trees, mud and warm frogs.
When do slimes spawn in swamps?
Mostly at night (light level 7 or lower), only between Y=50 and Y=70, and more often the fuller the moon: most at a full moon and none at a new moon. Elsewhere slimes only spawn underground in slime chunks. See slime chunks and magma cubes.

Which other mobs live in swamps?
Frogs spawn in swamps; on Java, warm frogs and tropical fish are the only passive mobs that spawn in mangrove swamps. The bogged, a poisonous skeleton, spawns at night in both swamps and mangrove swamps (and on Java also in caves). Villagers bred or cured in a swamp get a swamp-themed look. See frogs.
