Swamp Huts in Minecraft: Witch Huts
A swamp hut, or witch hut, is a small spruce cabin on stilts in swamps (not mangrove swamps). It spawns with one witch and one black cat that never despawn, and witches keep spawning in the hut's area, which makes it the base for witch farms. Inside are a cauldron, a crafting table and a potted red mushroom.
How do you find a swamp hut?
Explore swamps, or buy a swamp explorer map from a jungle, snowy or taiga cartographer; see cartographer trades. Huts stand on oak log stilts among the swamp trees, so look for a small dark roof. On Java /locate structure minecraft:swamp_hut works. Biome: swamps.
What spawns in a swamp hut?
One witch and one black cat appear when the hut generates; the witch does not appear in Peaceful. After that, witches can spawn anywhere in the hut's 7 by 7 by 9 area in the dark, and black cats can spawn there on grass blocks. Witches: witches. Cats: cats.
How do you make a witch farm?
Light up or slab over everything nearby, then build platforms inside the hut's spawning area and a drop to kill the witches. Witches drop redstone, glowstone dust, sugar, gunpowder, spider eyes, glass bottles and sticks, a great mix for brewing; see mob farms.
Is there loot in a swamp hut?
No chest. The cauldron is empty on Java and holds a random potion on Bedrock. The flower pot and mushroom are just decoration. Cauldrons: cauldrons.
