Structure Blocks: How to Save, Copy and Load Builds
Structure blocks save a build and paste it somewhere else, rotated or mirrored if you like. Get one with /give or from the Creative Operator Utilities tab; they only open for players in Creative with operator permission. In Save mode you mark out up to 48x48x48 blocks on Java (64x384x64 on Bedrock); in Load mode you place that saved structure again.
How do you get a structure block?
With /give @s structure_block, /setblock or /fill, or on Java from the Operator Utilities Creative tab. The GUI only opens in Creative with permission level 2 or higher. Placed structure blocks cannot be broken in Survival, pushed by pistons or destroyed by the ender dragon. See commands.
How do you copy a build with structure blocks?
- Place a structure block in Save mode next to the build and give the structure a name.
- Set the relative position and size to cover the build, or use two Corner blocks with the same name and press Detect.
- Turn on Include entities if you want mobs, armor stands or item frames saved too, then press Save.
- Place another structure block where the copy should go, switch it to Load mode and type the same name.
- Pick rotation (0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees) and mirroring, check the outline, then press Load.

On Java, a structure saved by a redstone-powered Save block stays only in memory and is lost when the world reloads; press the Save button to write a file.
What do integrity and seed do?
In Load mode, Structure Integrity removes random blocks from the structure: lower values remove more (0.0 to 1.0 on Java). The seed fixes which blocks go, so the same seed gives the same ruined copy. Bedrock also has animation modes that load the build layer by layer or block by block. Structure blocks became usable in 1.10.
