Slimeball in Minecraft: How to Get It and Uses
A slimeball drops from small slimes and crafts slime blocks, sticky pistons and magma cream. Frogs follow and breed with slimeballs, and sneezing baby pandas very rarely drop one.
How do you get a slimeball?
Kill small slimes in swamps or slime chunks, or buy one from a wandering trader for 4 emeralds.
What is it used for?
- Slime blocks
- Sticky pistons
- Magma cream
- Breeding frogs
More about it
Slime chunks spawn slimes below Y=40 at any light level, which is the base of slime farms. 9 slimeballs make a slime block, and a slime block crafts back into 9 slimeballs. Slime blocks bounce you back up and stop fall damage, and they stick to blocks next to them when a piston pushes them.
Tip
A slime farm in a slime chunk gives enough for flying machines and piston doors.
Items and recipes
Most items stack to 64 in one inventory slot; tools, armor, potions and a few others do not stack at all. The recipe book in your crafting screen shows every recipe you have unlocked, and picking up a new item unlocks the recipes that use it. In Creative mode every item is in the creative inventory, and with cheats on the /give command hands you any item by its ID. Items you drop disappear after 5 minutes on the ground, so pick up rare drops quickly. See crafting and slime farms.
