Sky Wars
Sky Wars is a last-player-standing minigame played on floating islands: everyone starts on their own island with a chest of loot, bridges toward the middle for better gear, and tries to knock or kill the others into the void.
What is Sky Wars in Minecraft?
Sky Wars is one of the minigames minecraft.wiki names when it describes minigame servers, and Mojang's own book Minecraft: Guide to PVP Minigames gives it a chapter on how to build a Sky Wars map and how the game works.
The idea is simple. Every player spawns on a small island floating over the void. Each island has a chest with a few blocks, weapons or pieces of armour. The centre island usually holds the best chests, so the map pulls everyone toward the middle, and the void under the whole map turns every knockback into a possible kill.
How does a Sky Wars game play out?
The first seconds are a race. Open your chest, put armour on, and decide: build straight to the middle for the strong loot, or bridge to a neighbour and fight them while they are still gearing up.
Because there is no floor, a fall off the island is as deadly as a lost fight. In vanilla Minecraft the void deals heavy damage that ignores armour and Protection, so once you drop below the map there is no saving yourself unless you still hold an ender pearl and somewhere to throw it.
- Grab blocks from every chest you open.
- Bridge with your back to the void as little as possible.
- Carry a projectile: snowballs, eggs and arrows push players off bridges.
- Ender pearls are the best escape: the pearl teleports you where it lands for 5 HP of damage.
What are good Sky Wars tips?
- Loot fast and leave your island early; staying put lets others get the middle chests.
- Break the bridge behind you if someone follows.
- Fight near the centre of an island, not on its edge.
- Keep a water bucket if the map allows it; it breaks falls inside the arena.
- Count players. When only two or three are left, the safest play is often to let them fight first.
Can you play Sky Wars on ArtemisPvP?

How do you win Sky Wars?
Be the last player alive. Most eliminations are falls into the void, so knockback and safe bridging matter as much as gear.
