Savanna Biomes in Minecraft: Acacia, Llamas and Armadillos
Savannas are dry, flat grasslands with umbrella-shaped acacia trees and small oaks. It never rains there, the grass is olive-green, and armadillos, horses, donkeys and warm farm animals roam. Savanna plateaus sit higher up and have spotted wolves and llamas; windswept savannas have wild, broken terrain.

Does it rain in a savanna?
No. Savannas are arid, so rain never falls and lightning never strikes naturally, though mobs still spawn during thunderstorms because the sky darkens. Zombie horsemen can appear at night. See weather and lightning.
Where do armadillos come from?
Savannas and badlands. Brush an armadillo to get scutes, the material for wolf armor; it curls up when a player runs near it. See armadillos.
What are savanna villages like?
They are built mainly from acacia wood and terracotta, and dandelions and poppies are twice as common here as in most biomes. Abandoned camps can also appear. Savannas border plains, forests, deserts and badlands, and can sit close to jungles without ever touching them.
