Ravagers in Minecraft: The Raid Beast
A ravager is a huge beast with 100 health that only spawns in raids, starting at wave 3, sometimes with a pillager, vindicator or evoker riding it. It rams and bites players, villagers and iron golems, knocks targets about 5 blocks, and tramples leaves and crops. It always drops a saddle and 20 experience.
How do you fight a ravager?
Block its bite with a shield: no damage gets through, knockback is halved, and there is a 50% chance it is stunned for 2 seconds, which is your chance to hit. It has 70% knockback resistance on Java (75% on Bedrock), so you can barely push it away; fight it in the open or from above. Strong armor and a good sword or axe help; see shields.

What else should you know?
- It targets players, adult villagers, wandering traders and iron golems within 32 blocks, preferring villagers.
- It breaks leaves and some crops by charging through them unless mob griefing is off; see game rules.
- Riders fall off in water two blocks deep and cannot get back on.
- Players cannot ride it, even though it looks saddled.
- Ravagers spawned some other way can join a raid within 96 blocks of its center.
