Potion of Weaving in Minecraft: Recipe and Effects

A Potion of Weaving gives the Weaving effect for 3 minutes: cobwebs slow you less, and when you die you leave 2-3 cobwebs behind. Brew it from an Awkward Potion and a cobweb. It came with Tricky Trials (1.21).

How do you brew a Potion of Weaving?

Brew in a brewing stand fuelled with blaze powder: water bottles plus Nether wart make Awkward Potions, the base for most potions; see brewing potions.

What does it do?

Weaving reduces how much cobwebs slow you, and the target spawns cobwebs on death. Level does not change the number of webs. Effect list: every potion.

When should you use it?

Handy in trial chambers and mineshafts full of cobwebs, and as a trap when thrown at mobs. See cobwebs.

Step by step

Fill three glass bottles with water and place them in the bottom slots of a brewing stand, with blaze powder as fuel. Add Nether wart to make Awkward Potions (Weakness skips this step), then add the main ingredient. Finally add redstone for a longer version, glowstone for a stronger one, or gunpowder for a splash potion. The cobwebs left behind can trap the next mob or player that walks through them.

Splash, lingering and tips

Cobwebs are collected with shears or silk touch. Add gunpowder for a splash version you throw, then dragon's breath for a lingering cloud; see splash and lingering potions. Related: mineshafts.
