OneBlock

OneBlock is a survival challenge where you stand on a single block in the void; every time you break it, it comes back as something new, and you build your whole world from what it gives you.

What is OneBlock in Minecraft?

OneBlock is a cousin of Skyblock with an even smaller start: one block. Break it and it is replaced, usually with a different block or a chest, and those drops are everything you have to build with. Most OneBlock maps move through stages, so the block gives better materials and different mobs the longer you play.

OneBlock has an official foothold on Bedrock: minecraft.wiki lists OneBlockOnline, run by InPvP, as a featured experience on the Bedrock server list, added on 23 July 2026.

Was there an official OneBlock update?

Sort of. Java Edition's April Fools' snapshot for 2022, 22w13oneBlockAtATime, released on 1 April 2022, was themed "One Block at a Time". It was a joke version, not a real update: it overhauled the inventory so that items became blocks, blocks no longer dropped as items, and bedrock became breakable in Survival, taking 15 minutes with empty hands and no Haste.

There is no proper release called the One Block at a Time Update; minecraft.wiki is clear that the snapshot was only a joke.

How do you play OneBlock well?

  • Place every block you get around the starting block so you have room to stand.
  • Keep saplings and dirt: a tree is your first renewable resource.
  • Make a cobblestone generator as soon as you have water and lava.
  • Build a small shelter before the stages that bring hostile mobs.
  • Leave chests open-side up near the block so you never lose loot to the void.

Is OneBlock on ArtemisPvP?

No. ArtemisPvP is a Factions server built for PvP; its island-style challenge is the Trials rooms. Join with Java Edition at play.artemispvp.com (1.8.9 up to 26.2).
