Ocean Ruins: Warm and Cold Ruins and Their Loot
Ocean ruins are sunken ruins guarded by drowned. Warm ocean ruins are sandstone, in warm and lukewarm oceans, with suspicious sand; cold ocean ruins are stone brick, in normal, cold and frozen oceans, with suspicious gravel. Their chests often hold buried treasure maps, and 30% of ruins are large ones with up to 8 small ruins around them.

Most ruins are underwater, but some generate on land beside a beach. They are often partly buried.
How big are ocean ruins?
30% of ocean ruins are large and 70% small. A large ruin has a 90% chance to come with 4 to 8 small ruins around it, forming a ruined village. What can you find in ocean ruins?
The chests are one of the places to find buried treasure maps, which lead to a heart of the sea; see buried treasure. Brushing the suspicious sand in warm ruins can give a sniffer egg, and both kinds give pottery sherds and other finds; see archaeology.
What should you watch out for?
Drowned guard the ruins, and some may carry tridents; see the trident. Dolphins fed raw fish swim to the nearest shipwreck or ocean ruins; see turtles and dolphins.
