KOTH, King of the Hill, is a server event where teams or factions fight to stand on one capture zone and hold it until a timer runs out. On ArtemisPvP it opens every 6 hours, a faction must hold the hill for 15 minutes to win, and the capper gets $1,000,000, everyone on the hill $100,000 and the faction 500 Faction Points.
What is KOTH?
King of the Hill is a capture-the-zone game: one area (the hill) is marked, and whoever stands on it alone builds up capture time. If an enemy steps on, the hill is contested and progress stops. How does KOTH work on ArtemisPvP?
- The hill opens every 6 hours and the whole server is told; type
/koth warpto go straight there. - A member of your faction must stand on the hill and hold it for 15 minutes; you need to be in a faction to capture.
- If another faction steps on, the hill is contested and the timer stops; if nobody captures it, it closes after 90 minutes.
- Checkpoints at 10, 5, 2 and 1 minutes and 30 seconds left: once you reach one, retaking a lost hill restarts from that checkpoint.
- Die at KOTH and you cannot go back in until it ends.

How do you win KOTH?
