Hoglins and Zoglins: Drops, Breeding, Repelling
Hoglins are 40 HP hostile beasts that live in herds of 3-4 in crimson forests and in bastion hoglin stables. They drop 2-4 raw porkchops and some leather, can be bred with crimson fungus, and keep 7 blocks away from warped fungus, Nether portals and respawn anchors. Bring one to the Overworld or the End and it turns into a zoglin after 15 seconds.
Where do hoglins spawn?
Hoglins spawn in herds of 3 to 4 in crimson forests and keep respawning there. They also generate in bastion remnants, most often in the hoglin stable kind. They attack any player within 16 blocks, throwing you upward on Java, even through a raised shield. See bastions.
Why hunt hoglins?
An adult drops 2-4 raw porkchops (more with Looting) and has a 50% chance of leather, so hoglins are a food source in the Nether. Baby hoglins drop only experience, and are the only baby animals that do. Breed two adults with crimson fungus to farm them. See breeding animals.
How do you keep hoglins away?
Hoglins stay at least 7 blocks away from warped fungus (even in a flower pot), Nether portals and respawn anchors, and do not attack a player standing near one of them. They also sink and drown in water. Hitting one makes every hoglin nearby join in, and piglins sometimes hunt them.
What is a zoglin?
A hoglin that enters the Overworld or the End shakes and turns into a zoglin after 15 seconds. On Peaceful the zoglin disappears at once. See the Nether Update (1.16).
