Forest Biomes in Minecraft: Oak, Birch and Flower Forests
Forests are the most common Overworld surface biome, about 12% of the world, packed with oak and birch trees. Birch forests have only birch, old growth birch forests have extra-tall birches, and flower forests swap many trees for huge numbers of flowers and bees. Forests are the easiest place to collect wood.

Why are forests good for wood?
Trees grow close together, so you get stacks of logs fast, and oak leaves drop apples. Replant saplings to keep the forest going; see trees and saplings.
Why visit a flower forest?
It has almost every one-block flower in one place, which makes it the best dye source in the game, and bees love it. It never borders a normal forest, and often sits next to plains and meadows. Every dye and its flower: dyes.
What structures are in forests?
Abandoned camps (added in 26.3) can generate in forests, birch forests and flower forests, and woodland mansions in dark forests. Wolves in normal forests use the woods look; see wolves.
