Craft a firework rocket from paper and gunpowder; add up to three gunpowder for a longer flight. For colourful explosions, first craft firework stars from gunpowder and dyes, then add them to the rocket.
How do you make a firework rocket?
Combine paper and gunpowder in a crafting grid. Up to three gunpowder can be used: more gunpowder means a longer flight. Fill any remaining slots with firework stars to add explosions; all the stars burst at almost the same moment.

How do you make a firework star?

Which fireworks are best for elytra?
For elytra flight you want rockets without firework stars: a rocket used while gliding gives a speed boost, and stars would add an explosion that hurts you. More gunpowder means a longer boost.
Can you shoot fireworks?
Yes. Firework rockets work as crossbow ammunition, but only rockets with an explosion deal damage; more stars add more damage and more gunpowder gives more range.
