End Rods in Minecraft: Light From the End
End rods are thin white light sticks found all over End cities. They give light level 14, the same as a torch, can face any direction and can be placed on top of each other. Craft 4 from 1 blaze rod and 1 popped chorus fruit. They also melt nearby snow and ice and make great decoration.
How do you craft end rods?
Put a blaze rod under a popped chorus fruit to get 4. Popped chorus fruit comes from smelting chorus fruit, which grows on the End's outer islands; see chorus fruit. Blaze rods come from blazes; see blazes.
How do you place them?
- On any face of any block, pointing out from it.
- On top of other end rods to make tall poles.
- They stay in place when the block behind them is broken.
- Water flowing over them breaks them into items.
Where do you find them?
On the outsides and insides of End city towers, where sideways rods inside some towers work as a spiral staircase you can climb. Mine them instantly with anything. End cities: end cities.
What are end rods good for?
Both end rods and torches give light 14, but torches are much cheaper and break when their block is removed, while end rods stay. Use end rods for modern lamps, candles on builds, fences and antennas, since they are thinner than torches. They melt snow and ice within 2 blocks, so keep them away from ice builds. Other lights: light sources. Light levels: light levels.
