Desert Biomes in Minecraft: Temples, Husks and Camels
Deserts are hot, flat seas of sand over sandstone, with cacti, dead bushes and almost no water. They hold some of the best loot structures, such as desert pyramids, desert villages, wells and pillager outposts, but at night husks replace most zombies. Camels and rabbits are the only wild animals.
What is in a desert?
- Sand and sandstone, cacti (sometimes with a cactus flower on top) and dead bushes.
- Desert pyramids with a TNT trap and loot; see desert temples.
- Sandstone villages, desert wells and pillager outposts.
- Camels and rabbits in the wild; see camels.
Why are deserts dangerous at night?
Husks, zombies that do not burn in daylight and give Hunger, make up most of the zombies, and since 1.21.11 parched skeletons spawn too; a few husks even ride camel husks carrying a spear. There is little cover and no wood, so bring torches and blocks. See zombies.
Why does a desert have no beaches?
Deserts usually run straight into warm oceans, or into a stony shore, instead of a sandy beach. Rivers in deserts are often shallow and dry. Rain does not fall here: deserts are a dry biome. See weather.
What are deserts good for?
Sand by the thousand for glass and concrete, cactus for green dye, and rabbits. They make up about 2.4% of the Overworld but tend to be large. See glass.
Is there a desert world on ArtemisPvP?
Frequently asked questions

No. Deserts are dry, so rain never falls there.
What mobs spawn in the desert?
