Desert and Jungle Temples: Traps and Loot
A desert temple hides four chests in a room under the blue terracotta in the middle of the floor, guarded by a pressure plate wired to nine TNT, so never step on it. A jungle temple has two chests, one behind a lever puzzle and one at the end of a hallway with tripwire arrow traps.
Where is the desert temple trap?
Desert temples (desert pyramids) are sandstone and terracotta buildings in deserts. In the middle of the main floor, under the blue terracotta, a shaft drops into a room with four chests. A stone pressure plate in that room is wired to a 3x3 grid of TNT: stepping on it blows up the chests, their loot and probably you. So never land on that plate. Mobs sometimes spawn in the dark room and set off the trap before anyone arrives.
What loot is in a desert temple?
Loot is random per chest; each of the four chests has a 2.4% chance of an enchanted golden apple. There is also a buried 5x5 cellar at the back, reached by collapsed stairs, with six to eight blocks of suspicious sand to brush for archaeology loot such as pottery sherds. See golden apples.
How do you solve the jungle temple puzzle?
Jungle temples (jungle pyramids) are mossy cobblestone buildings with 3 floors in jungles (and bamboo jungles on Java). On the bottom floor are 3 levers. The correct order is:
- Flick the lever furthest from the staircase.
- Flick the lever closest to the staircase.
- Flick the closest lever back.
- Flick the furthest lever back.
A block on the main floor then slides away, revealing a chest.
Where is the jungle temple arrow trap?
Down the hall from the puzzle, two tripwires hidden behind vines are connected to dispensers holding 2-14 arrows: one in the middle of the hallway and one around the corner in front of the second chest. Walking into a tripwire fires the arrows at you, and so does breaking it with anything except shears.
