Cookie in Minecraft: Hunger, Saturation and How to Get It

A cookie restores 2 hunger and only 0.4 saturation, so it is a snack, not a meal. Craft them from wheat and cocoa beans. Never feed one to a parrot: it kills it.

How much does cookie restore?

Hunger2
Saturation0.4

Each hunger point is half a drumstick, so 2 hunger is 1 drumsticks.

How do you get it?

Craft 2 wheat and 1 cocoa bean. Journeyman farmers sell 18 cookies for 3 emeralds, and farmers gift them on Java.

Tips

Cookies stack to 64 and compost with an 85% chance to raise the level.

More about cookie

One craft gives 8 cookies. Cocoa beans grow on jungle logs, so a small jungle wood farm keeps cookies coming. Cookies are eaten in the normal 1.6 seconds, so they are not a faster snack.

How hunger works

Hunger points refill the hunger bar (20 points, 10 drumsticks), and saturation is a hidden buffer that drains first. With 18 or more hunger, or any saturation, health regenerates naturally; at 6 or less you cannot sprint, and at 0 you take starvation damage. Most foods take 1.6 seconds to eat, and you cannot eat at full hunger except a few special foods. Foods with high saturation keep you healing longer, which matters most in fights. Raw food cooks the same in a furnace, a smoker or a campfire: smokers are twice as fast, and campfires need no fuel at all. See food and hunger and parrots.

Does ArtemisPvP have custom items?

Yes: ArtemisPvP has custom gear on top of vanilla items; see Gear.
