Channeling Enchantment in Minecraft: What It Does
Channeling calls a lightning bolt onto a mob or player hit by your trident during a thunderstorm, as long as the target is under open sky. It is how you make charged creepers, witches and brown mooshrooms on purpose. It cannot be combined with Riptide.
Channeling at a glance
| Max level | I |
| Goes on | Tridents |
| Cannot combine with | Riptide. |
| Where to get it | Enchanting tables, librarians, fishing and loot. |
Get enchantments from an enchanting table with bookshelves, from enchanted books on an anvil, from librarian villagers, or as loot (a few, like Wind Burst, only come from special loot such as ominous vaults); see enchanting and anvils.
What does Channeling do?
It only works in a thunderstorm, and the target must be able to see the sky. More: weather and lightning.
More about Channeling
Lightning can turn villagers into witches, pigs into zombified piglins and red mooshrooms into brown ones. A lightning rod protects your base from natural lightning, though it does not redirect Channeling bolts.
Enchanting tables use lapis lazuli and experience levels, anvils combine books and gear, and librarians sell books. Treasure enchantments only come from loot, trading and fishing, never the table, and higher levels cost more experience to apply and repair.
An enchanted book combines with an item of the right type at an anvil, and two books or items with the same enchantment at the same level merge into the next level up. Each anvil use raises the item's repair cost, so plan the order of your combinations and add Mending early.
Tips for Channeling
Hit a creeper with a Channeling trident in a storm to make a charged creeper, which drops mob heads when it blows up other mobs. Every enchantment: every enchantment.
Does ArtemisPvP have custom enchants too?
