Camels in Minecraft: Riding Two Players and Dashing
Camels are big desert animals that two players can ride at once. They are already tame, so just put a saddle on one. Every non-abandoned desert village has one camel at its center. Riders sit so high that most melee mobs cannot reach them, and camels can dash forward with a jump. Breed them with cactus.
How do you ride a camel?
Use a saddle on it, then get on; a second player can sit behind you. The back rider cannot hurt the driver or the camel. Saddles: saddles.
What is the camel dash?
Hold jump to charge a dash, then release to lunge forward a long way, then the camel must rest before dashing again. Use it to cross gaps and outrun mobs. The height also keeps zombies and most other melee mobs away from you, but not arrows, spiders or slimes.
Where do you find camels?
In deserts, rarely in the wild, and one in the middle of every desert village that is not abandoned; that one never despawns. See deserts and villages.
Other camel facts
- 32 health, more than most animals.
- They sit down now and then for a few seconds.
- Breed with cactus; parents wait 5 minutes; see cactus.
- Husks can ride camel husks in deserts; see camel husks.
How do you breed camels?
Hold cactus and camels follow you within 10 blocks on Java or 16 on Bedrock; sitting camels stand up to follow. Feed two adults cactus to get a baby and 1-7 experience, then wait 5 minutes before breeding them again. Babies grow up over time or faster when fed cactus.
