The Bogged in Minecraft: Poison Skeletons

The bogged is a mossy, mushroom-covered skeleton added in Tricky Trials (1.21). It spawns in swamps and mangrove swamps and from trial spawners, and its arrows give Poison for 4 seconds. It has 16 health, less than a normal skeleton's 20, and shoots more slowly. Shear it for 2 mushrooms.

Where does the bogged spawn?

In swamps and mangrove swamps, replacing about 30% of skeletons, and from trial spawners in trial chambers. On Java they spawn at light level 0, above or below ground. On Bedrock they spawn at light 0-7 but never underground, so dense mangrove canopy can let them appear in the day. See swamps and trial chambers.

How is it different from a skeleton?

ShootingNormal speedLonger wait between shots
Powder snowTurns into a strayTakes freezing damage, does not convert
ShearsNothingDrops 2 mushrooms (red or brown)

Other skeleton types: skeletons and strays.

What does it drop?

Bones, arrows and sometimes an arrow of Poison, plus its bow now and then. Like all undead it is hurt by Instant Health and healed by Instant Damage. Mushrooms from shearing: mushrooms.

How do you fight it?

Use a shield to block the poison arrows and close in fast; it has less health than a skeleton. Smite works well. Milk cures the poison, and a golden apple's regeneration helps you outheal it. On Bedrock, spiders in swamps can spawn with a bogged riding them as a spider jockey.
