Bedrock Edition Commands: How They Differ From Java

Bedrock Edition uses most of the same commands as Java, typed in chat with a slash, but you must turn on Allow Cheats first, and that switches off achievements for the world forever. Bedrock also has commands Java lacks, like /alwaysday, /tickingarea, /camera and /structure, while Java-only ones include /seed, /worldborder and /team.

How do you use commands on Bedrock?

Open chat and type a command starting with /. In your own world, commands need Allow Cheats, which you can turn on when creating the world or later in the Cheats tab of the settings. On Bedrock, turning cheats on in a world permanently stops achievements from unlocking there; see achievements. On a server, only operators can run most commands.

Which commands work on both Java and Bedrock?

The everyday ones: /gamemode, /tp, /give, /time, /weather, /effect, /enchant, /summon, /fill, /locate, /gamerule, /title, /tellraw and /xp, among others. Their exact syntax can differ between editions. See Minecraft commands for the full guide.

Java has /seed (show the world seed), /worldborder, /team, /bossbar, /data, /attribute, /advancement, /datapack, /forceload, /tick and /ban, among others. On Bedrock you find the seed on the Edit World screen instead.

How do you show coordinates on Bedrock?
