What is saturation in Minecraft?
Saturation is a hidden food bar. While you have saturation, your visible hunger bar does not drop. Good foods give lots of it.

What food gives the most saturation?
Golden carrots give the most saturation of normal foods, followed by cooked steak and cooked porkchop. Golden apples also give effects.

Cake fills the most if you eat all of it (7 slices). Rabbit stew, steak and cooked porkchop are the best single foods.
What makes you hungry faster?
Sprinting, jumping, swimming, fighting, mining and healing all use up hunger. Standing still uses almost none.

How long can you go without food in Minecraft?
With an empty hunger bar you lose health down to 5 hearts on Easy and half a heart on Normal. Only on Hard can starving kill you.
