How to beat tough mobs and break tough blocks
Fight plans for the mobs that kill the most players, and the right tool for blocks people struggle to break.
How do you beat an elder guardian?
Drink Night Vision and Water Breathing, bring a sword or trident, and fight close to its body. Kill all three elder guardians to lift Mining Fatigue.

How do you beat an evoker?
Rush it: evokers are weak up close. Kill the vexes it summons, and watch the ground for fangs. It drops a totem of undying.

Block its attacks with a shield: a blocked ravager is stunned for a moment, then roars and knocks things back. Hit it while it is stunned.

How do you beat a breeze?
Close the distance between its wind charges and hit it in melee. Wind charges deal little damage but knock you around, so fight away from edges.

How do you beat a piglin brute?
Wear strong armor and fight with a good sword or axe. Brutes always attack, even if you wear gold, and hit very hard.

How do you deal with phantoms?
Sleep regularly so they never spawn, or fight them with a bow. Cats scare phantoms away.
How do you beat the Wither?
Summon it underground or far from your base, wear netherite or diamond armor with Protection, and use a Smite sword, a Power bow and Healing potions.
Below half health it gets armor that blocks arrows, so switch to melee. Milk cures the Wither effect.
What tool breaks glass fastest?
No tool speeds up glass; it breaks quickly by hand. Use Silk Touch to keep the glass block.

Can you break bedrock in survival?
Not normally. Bedrock cannot be mined in Survival; Java players can sometimes destroy it with piston and TNT tricks.
