Java tracks progress with advancements, Bedrock with achievements tied to your Xbox account. Here is how each works and how to unlock the hard ones.
What is the difference between advancements and achievements?
Java Edition uses advancements, a tree of goals shown in game with L. Bedrock uses achievements linked to your Microsoft account.

How do you see advancements in Minecraft?
Press L on Java to open the advancements screen. On Bedrock, open Achievements from the pause menu.

Why are my achievements disabled on Bedrock?
Achievements turn off for a world if cheats were ever turned on, or the world was played in Creative. It cannot be undone for that world.

Do achievements work on servers?
Bedrock achievements do not unlock on most servers. Java advancements do work on servers and are saved per world.

Can you get achievements in Creative mode?
Not on Bedrock: Creative disables them for the world. On Java, advancements still unlock in Creative.
